Editorial Policy — Nordicslots

Sources

Every claim on Nordicslots links back to something a reader can verify: the operator's own bonus page, the licensing register, an official press release, or an academic study. When we quote an internal test (withdrawal times, support latency) we say so explicitly and share the date of the test. Reader-supplied information is triangulated against at least one public source before it appears in an article.

When operators change their bonus pages we archive a copy of the previous version, so we can show readers what we were quoting when a review was published. Archives are held for a rolling twelve months, and researchers who want a longer look-back are welcome to write in.

Nordicslots does not publish sponsored content, sponsored top-lists or advertorials disguised as reviews. Affiliate commissions from operators pay for the site, but the commission has no seat at the editorial table — a lower-paying operator can score higher than a higher-paying one, and does. If we ever run a genuinely sponsored piece, it will be labelled Sponsored at the top and be visually distinct from editorial pages.

Our commercial team is not allowed to write or edit editorial pages. Their role is to keep affiliate routes working, negotiate rates and report performance to the publisher. The wall between commercial and editorial is a real reporting line, not a slogan: neither team manages the other.

Fact checking

Before an article is published, the fact-checker on the Nordicslots team opens the operator's own pages and re-checks every number in the draft: bonus percentage, wagering, expiry, minimum deposit, withdrawal method fee, mobile app version. Discrepancies go back to the author for correction. Only after that pass is the piece put on the publishing queue, and the check date is recorded so we know when to refresh.

During the monthly refresh the fact-checker also verifies that outbound links still resolve and that the affiliate route still lands on the correct offer, not a generic homepage. Broken affiliate routes are corrected or replaced before the page is republished; if a fix is impossible, the CTA is removed from that page until a new route is available.

Principles

Nordicslots runs on four principles: independence from the operators we cover, factual accuracy over speed, plain writing without marketing dust, and a clear separation between editorial and commercial teams. When these principles collide with a commercial preference, the editorial call wins by default — that is why the policy exists, and why it is published rather than kept in an internal wiki.

The policy is reviewed once a year by the whole editorial team. When it needs to change we say so at the top of the page and keep a copy of the previous version linked from the archive. Small wording changes go through silently; changes of substance are always announced.

Update cycle

Trafficked pages on Nordicslots are refreshed at least once a month. Bonus terms are compared to the operator's current offer, payment methods are re-tested, and app version numbers are updated. When the underlying claim moves beyond the smallest wagering step, the page is rewritten and the Last-updated line above the article is refreshed. Bigger changes get a short note at the top.

Major regulatory changes (a country introduces a new licence class, a payment method leaves the market) trigger an off-cycle rewrite of every affected page. When that happens we tell readers in the monthly note as well, so nobody has to read every article to notice that the ground under a bonus or a payment method has moved.
